Celebrate Albanian American students selected as scholarship recipients.
Cornell University
Physics
Ruben will be attending Cornell University in the fall. He will be majoring in Physics for his undergraduate degree. He plans on continuing his studies into his graduate studies to become a physicist.
University of South Florida
Economics & Finance
Arbjona was born in Albania, but currently lives in Tampa, Florida. She is planning to attend the University of South Florida, where she will major in Economics and minor in Finance. Her ultimate goal is to pursue a career in investment banking and real estate.
Purdue University
Computer Engineering
Daniel is a student at Purdue University entering his Senior year. This school year, he will be completing his degree in computer engineering with a concentration in software engineering. This summer he is working as a Data Engineer & Analytics intern at Keeper Security. In his free time, he loves to play sports, work out, code, and practice photography!
University of Michigan
Pre-Med
Rea is a pre-med student at the University of Michigan. She hopes to be able to get into medical school because her career goal is to become a doctor. She loves to help people and enjoy problem-solving different issues, as well as taking on leadership roles and working with a team of passionate individuals. She wants to be able to make an impact on the lives of others and spread awareness about the importance of health.
San Diego City College
Philosophy & Psychology
Kristina is currently attending San Diego City College. She hopes to eventually get a Masters Degree in both Philosophy and Psychology. She wants to help people who are going through life's difficulties by helping them understand how their mind works and how to improve their life situations so that they do not pass on trauma to their children, which will make the world a better place.
Ferris State University
Doctor of Optometry
After finishing up her Bachelor's degree, Xhesika plans on pursuing a 4-year Doctorate's degree from Ferris State University. Her career goals include leading her own medical team someday. She is working towards becoming an optometrist and it has always been a burning desire of hers to run a clinic where together with her team we perform routine check-ups and take care of their patients.
Art Education
Allonja is a member of the Detroit chapter. She will be attending the University of Michigan in the fall. She aspires to become a high school art teacher. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment where students can express themselves freely through art. Art has been her passion and she wants to share that enthusiasm by fostering creativity and individuality in her students.
Loyola University Chicago
Biology
Helena will be attending her Freshman year at Loyola University Chicago. She is currently majoring in biology. Her career goal is to become a veterinarian. During her time at school, she hopes to forge meaningful relationships and immerse herself in the rich tapestry that Loyola has to offer.
University of Connecticut
Business & Marketing (Pre-Law)
Isabella will be attending the University of Connecticut in the fall. She will be studying business with a concentration in marketing. She intends to take the pre-law path. She plans to attend law school after she finishes her undergraduate degree.
Florida Gulf Coast University
Biotechnology
Klejdi is an Albanian citizen who came to America in 2022 for college. He is attending Florida Gulf Coast University. He is majoring in biotechnology. Biotechnology is a field that deals with the discovery of new technological methods to develop more knowledge about parts of cells. His goal is to go to graduate school or do a PhD program to become a specialist in this field.
Boston College
Accounting
Altea was born in Albania, but currently lives in Florida. She will be starting her first year at Boston College, where she will major in accounting. She wants to utilize her skills in finance and business to address social issues.
Financial Services
I'm very honored and grateful to have been selected as a AANO scholarship winner this year. As I am currently going through my internship at Santander Bank, I plan to return to the bank next year and start a career in financial services. In the long-term I see myself coming back to Albania and Kosovo and using my experience to have a positive impact in the community. This scholarship will be essential to me focusing on the most important parts of my journey and not expend energy on the funding part of it which often proves to be stressing.
